Biography

Known online as Gloom (formerly CloudyApples), Cassima “Kassie” Isabelle was born in December 1990 (age 31) in Toronto, Canada.
Gloom first made her online debut in 2011 on the lifestyle YouTube channel Cloudy Apples. She took a break for two years and came back in 2013. It wasn’t long before she deleted all her videos, but in the end she decided to move on and launched another channel in 2015 called Gloom Games (now Gloom only). This channel consisted primarily of games and commentary videos, but now includes skits, vlog, and a parody of crafts and cooking under her alias Kartha “Gewart”. KG (of course Kassie Gloom) replaces Martha Stewart’s initials in this satirical version.
As a child, Kassie grew up with three siblings; a brother, sister, and older sister. She was born and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, but spent most of her time in Singapore. Upon returning to Canada, Kassie attended elementary school, but was bullied because she resembled a Chinese person. Cassie described her high school years as nightmares. Over her final two years, she missed more classes than she attended, and she had trouble taking care of herself. She and her sister were later diagnosed with clinical depression.
Trivial facts
Approximately one quarter each of Kassie’s ancestry is Chinese, Malay, Singaporean, British, and Italian.
Kassie and Shakira collaborated on a video video titled “Reacting with Shakira to Her Old Videos!”.
As a mark of respect for her deceased sister, Kassie got a tattoo on her right arm on March 27, 2019.
Kassie is afflicted with Clinical depression.
The video “I’m Coming Out” features Kassie coming out as pansexual.
Her YouTube friends include AzzyLand, Bijuu Mike, LaurenzSide, and Kubz Scouts, whom she refers to as her “YouTube Besties”.
Before becoming a YouTube star, she worked as a waitress, which helped her overcome her shyness.
Additionally, she dislikes iced tea. In her March 2020 video “We Tried The Death Straw /w @Azzyland , she states that it was her first time drinking iced tea in 16 years, as a result of a traumatic tea experience during her middle school years.
