Jay Shetty, born on September 6, 1987, in London, England, is a British-Indian podcaster, author, life coach, and entrepreneur. He grew up in Barnet, North London, in a Hindu family, with his parents and younger sister. His multicultural background is reflected in his mother being Gujarati from Yemen and his father being Tuluva from Karnataka, India. Shetty attended Queen Elizabeth's School in Barnet and later graduated from Cass Business School at the City, University of London. Currently, he resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Radhi Devlukia Shetty​​.

In 2019, Shetty launched his podcast, "On Purpose." The podcast was downloaded 64 million times in its first year and became the number one health podcast in the world according to Forbes.
